Easy concert pieces for young cellists. Pieces are based on the different keys of the unaltered diatonic scale of C.
This fourth book of easy pieces in the Rascals series aims at providing the young pupil with a taste of real 'concert music', while at the same time, the action of rehearsing and performing easy concert pieces develops the capacity to recognise notes on the stave and find the appropriate connection with their position on the fingerboard. It helps the pupil make the connection between the three domains a) the visual representation of the note on the stave, b) its physical production in instrumental terms and c) the aural result and quality of note production. Pupils who have been taught cello using the Colourstrings method can start to play these pieces after completing ABC Book B, concurrently with practising the exercises in the Colourstrings scale books.Piano and violin parts are available separately.
