Repertoire for Cello from English-speaking countries. Series 4 Easy Diatonic Songs Book A
In the diatonic songs in Series 4, aspects of technique can be studied whilst enjoying these beautiful melodies. From Series 2 the melodies are notated on the five-line stave whilst maintaining the use of coloured fingering and position markings. Each song is written in a variety of positions and registers, and can be played with the piano accompaniment.
All the Series in this collection of repertoire books contain songs and melodies from English-speaking nations which have been adapted to the teaching methods of Csaba Szilvay’s cello school, and are designed to complement it. The style of these series will be familiar to Colourstrings teachers, but they are also designed for all cello teachers, so that more students of any age, stage and ability can benefit from this unique way of teaching. Explanatory notes for teachers and parents are included in each book.
“These publications are a great and valuable addition to the Colourstrings Cello ABC repertoire. They open up new viewpoints to the folk music of English-speaking countries and provide all cellists with a great collection of tunes to work on.” Csaba Szilvay, creator of the Colourstrings Cello ABC method.
