This fifth book in the Rascals series has been thought out in such a way that familiarisation with intervals takes place via the experiencing of reals works of music. Each song in the book is linked to a specific interval and has been arranged as a concert pieces for cello and piano. The interval to be practised is presented in the first two notes of each song, and is repeated many times during the piece. The only exception is the interval of the major seventh which appear in the fourth bar of the relevant piece. A conscious effort has been made to avoid excessive difficulty in the little cellist's left or right hands. The pieces are nevertheless sufficiently challenging in a technical sense and refreshingly varied in terms of melody, rhythms and musical expression.Piano and violin parts are available separately.
