Supplementary material for the Colourstrings Viola ABC Book B. 42 Finger Exercises for perfect intonation in the first position.
Good intonation is the main concern of a violin teacher working with children. It is the duty and responsibility of the teacher to train and develop a pitch-sensitive ear and fingers, and this challenge is greatly facilitated by the repertoire of the Colourstrings Violin ABC.The recent International Minifiddlers distance teaching project gave me further insight into what pupils and teachers worldwide need in order to make learning and teaching 'ear-led finger-stopping movements' even more effective and enjoyable. I have therefore created these mini-studies to meet this need.Whilst in the process of collating these tiny compositions for publication, I was surprised to discover that there were 42 in all! Thus, I could not resist the temptation to call them 'Kreutzerini'.Geza Szilvay
